WOW…..

Martin and I got up early so we could paint some bead board for the pantry.

It was nice to be able to spend a few hours playing with my husband. Then it was back to work for me. Appliquéing was the work of the day.

I would check on the hubby to see the progress.

Little by little it started to take shape.

One row of black pipe supports goes up!

Then wahlaaaaa

Half of the pantry is done. With tears in my eyes I loaded the shelves. Martin has been working so hard day after day.

Love progress!!!

Till next time….

We have almost counter tops…..

Martin was busy this week. He created my new light for above the sink

He formed up the counter tops

I found this Z Countertop System on Pinterest. Everything you need for a do-it-your-selfer. That’s us!!!

Next step a little clean up then the mesh goes in. Expert help is coming over the Holiday weekend.

Tonight we went to take Kansas for a walk and the kitties decided to join in. We took the outside loop and they went the whole way. Mik would get tired and just plop in the ground to rest. Tongues hanging they found the energy to hunt a mouse out of a tree.

This little guy was quiet as a mouse, pun intended, as the kitties never saw it. He lives another day.

The kitties would climb in the trees.

They kind of look like a bobcat.

The wild flowers are forever blooming.

There are millions of these tiny little yellow flowers everywhere

These are new!!!

This is one of the reasons we call our home Dead-Wood-Ranch. When I see these dead souls I always wonder what their stories are. Hit by lightening? Disease? Old age? Fire? Either standing strong or laying peacefully on their side on the ground they still provide us with a beautiful opportunity for a photo.

Till next time…..

Life on the ranch…..

We took a week off and headed off to Bonneville. We met Martins Aunt Rita and Uncle Phil. Uncle Phil built a cool Rat Rod. We had beautiful weather and great company.

My favorite part on the 29 was the wigg wag.

He steps on the brake and it moves side to side. I giggled every time it happened.

Some of the cars we saw were amazing but not as much as the 29.

When we got back from fun and it was back to work and building.

Martin put up more tin on the ceiling and permanently installed the chandelier.

We were able to move the dresser out of the closet. And then move the clothing racks out of the bathroom and into the closet. Now Martin has room to work on the plumbing.

While waiting for hole saws to arrive Martin took that time to figure out a lay out for the pantry. With a plan he now could order everything he needs to complete it.

The kitties are becoming a real part of the family. With the warm weather we have the doors open. They felt brave enough to take over Kansas bed.

They are so funny to watch them sleep. They cuddle together so cute!!!

Kansas the next day is like, this is my bed.

She guards her food. Once in awhile a Martin catches the kitties eating Kansas food and he tells them, “you eat that and you will start barking!” Cracks me up.

This morning it was just so pretty. The kitties are waiting for us as we open the door. We are dressed in our robes with our towels in tow as we head up the trail to the shower. Behind us we can hear a herd of elephants running towards us and they zoom past us. Scratching on the dead wood that lines the trail. I think they are showing off. Then the elephants run up all the way to the shower. Yea it was the kitties. You would think they would be light on their feet. The morning always starts with a giggle.

Today we had to go to the Post Office so as we came down this hill BAM 💥 there was a deer standing along the dirt road watching us as we were watching it.

Then as we approached slowly it watched us longer. Martin snapped a picture and almost on cue it turned and leaped over the wire fence with such grace and little effort. As I drove around the curve it stood there on the other side of the fence sticking its tongue out. It watched us again watching it. I started to roll down my window and it took off hopping like a playful child. Jumping off the ground with all four hooves at one time. We could hear it saying as it happily hopped off was, ” haha you can’t catch me”. That is the best part of life on the ranch. No day is the same.

Martin was out burning in the burn barrel. He found a friend. Mr. Horney Toad.

Next he sees this wild flower all alone just waiting for him to take its picture.

Pretty in purple.

Life on the ranch is peaceful and relaxing even when working.

Till next time…..

Finally it arrived….

Awhile ago our neighbor John hit an elk traveling on the roads here. Did $7,000 worth of damage to his truck. After hearing that story Martin ordered himself a brush guard for the front of his truck. Well it never arrived. After time they refunded his money so he ordered from a different company. That was another challenge but finally it was delivered. Martin and Ron spent Monday ripping into the front of Martins truck. After about 3 hours they finally had it installed. Winch and all!!! This winch is a big dog. It has the strength to pull his truck straight up a mountain if needed.
Sexy isn't it!!!

I took Sunday off and decided to finish placing the mosaic tiles on our bedroom wall. Now all I need is glitter grout! That will be my next day off!
With the monsoons the wildflowers just keep blooming.
And the sunsets are breathtaking
One of Martins mile stones was hooking up the hot water heater and the recirculating hot water line. Don't know how he does it. Still amazes me everyday.

This was a shot standing in my studio looking out. The moon was so bright last night!!!

During one of our monsoons our game camera picked up this shot. It rained so hard you can see it dancing on the ground. It looks very mysterious.
Wicked right?

Till next time…..

Busy week…..

We can't believe it's Friday again. The weeks just fly by.
Our kitties are growing up fast. Sometimes finding them is difficult!!!

Martin is packin' a new pistol. The judge with 2" barrel. Look out snakes.

Up here to register your vehicles you have to drive 1-1/2 hours. So Monday Martin drove over to register my car and get his licence. So then Wednesday we both went so I could get my licence and Martin could register his truck. The long drive is a pretty one back in some canyons. The wild flowers are just beautiful at this time of year.
After taking care of business we enjoyed a great BBQ lunch.
What's so funny about this DMV office is my new plate is 22 and Martins truck two days later is 25. So they only issued two other plates.
We had to take the kitties to get their vaccines. Of course the supervisor can always be found close by.
More wild flowers are blooming. They just make summer so fun cause they bloom at different times.
Martin completed the bedroom wall.
It makes the room look so big.

Martin also completed the faucet in the green house. This let's us fill our own water tank for our out door showers.
You should have seen the drill bit Martin had to buy to drill through this 6×6 post that these are screwed too. BIG, LONG and STRONG!!!!

The sauna is getting swallowed up by wildflowers
Ok this next picture is totally red neck engineering. After our long trip to DMV we stopped at the local hardware store. I had to pee so in the bathroom I found this faucet. Yes in a hardware store. Don't they sell better faucets than that. I died laughing and couldn't wait to show Martin this picture.

Till next time…..
